A while back I had discussed about a phishy address verification issue. A few minutes back I got a call from the SI telling that it was an error that it was not for a job but regarding a Rashtrapathi Bhavan Grievance I had posted last May and it had come to their desk for followup. Incidentally, this grievance was marked by me as resolved with no enquiry needed in June 2015. As per Rastrapathi Bhavan Helpline this has a status as below on 14 May 2015:
|REJECTED IT IS REQUEST THAT THIS PETITION MAY BE TRANSFERRED TO THE JOINT COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, SOUTH ZONE ON POINT OF JURISDICTION . THIS SOC AT COMES UNDER AT THE JOINT COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, SOUTH ZONE DISTRICT JURISDICTION . PG/120/ 48337/2015|
And the original text of the complaint as posted on 21st March 2015 is as below. I am not sure where any Rajya Sabha job is coming into this scene here.
Dear Team, A couple of months back there was a viral video demonstrating a gangrape of a girl by a mob spreading through Whatsapp. My friends in Mumbai — Kamalam Sundarrajan and Arati Chouhan too yeoman efforts to nab the culprits through cell phone companies, Whatsapp Support Abuse Team but to no avail. The response they got from Navi Mumbai cyber team also was weirdly irresponsible. They also filed a couple of PILs with the help of a Pune based cyber lawyer which was going no further too thanks to the strength of cyber laws in our country. Just in a week’s time, the state of Tamil Nadu earns another lucrative fame regarding the same Whatsapp abuse: 1) A cop is flirting with a lady constable of the team. The audio of the flirt is floating and doing rounds of the Internet. The police department of Greater Chennai is involving in a shameless act of closing the file in haste to shield their arses being laminated by the law; under the pretext that the lady cop is trying to settle the scores with the accused because the latter was involved in making the former to get transferred. 2) Just yesterday there was another incident in Krishnagiri Tamil Nadu where a bunch of unscrupulous teachers were ‘leaking’ Mathematics question papers through WhatsApp. Can you kindly intervene in the issue and bring a firm internet laws in the country? In the case of Navi Mumbai, the cops ‘do not know how to deal with Whatsapp Internet Related Issue’ and in the case of Chennai, the cops are expert and even outsmart con men in being law breakers.
